Tom was brillent he helped his little sister and Jessica really did listen to her big brother.
Jessica but the mix into the bowl (threw it) Tom added the egg then both of them had a go at the wisking. Then Tom and Jessica had half a banana each of which they chopped up into small pieces (Jessca was helped by mommy). Once they had chopped the banana they each but there half into the bowl followered by more whisking. Then I gave then each a spoon which they used to put the mixture into different sized cup cake holders. I then put all of the fairy cakes into the oven.
While the cakes where cooking we started to make icing as well as melt the cooking chocolate we chopped up more fresh bananas too. Before we began icing the cakes we covered our chopped bananas in the melted chocolate then placed them into the fridge to set. Fairy cakes done we covered them with icing and hundreds of thousands.
CLEARING UP
Well I gave Tom and Jessica a wet cloth each took the lid of the bin and we all started to clean up tom washed up too. Jessica liked wipping the table but loved trying to clean Garfield more. The poor cat was running scared with Jessica cackeling behind him swinging the cloth around saying "come on come on" Me and Tom were crying with laughter and were unable to help the poor thing.
After a lovely Gammon dinner we all ate a cake each as well as our chocolate covered bananas. Everyone really enjoyed there share its fare to say there really wasn't a crumb left!
I don't normally share my kitchen with anyone and have always found the idea cooking with children stressfull even though this was a regular activity when I was a kid. But I feel I've turned a corner and actually found I enjoyed myself it was nice to spend quality time with my kids and at the same time teaching them a new skill....I'm just sorry its taken me so long to discover this!!
I am now planning our next cooking session I'm thinking a real winter warmer like stew or cassarole with fresh crusty bread finished off with fresh fruit jelly all made by me and my little helpers.
