We ourselves opted to have our own family bonfire and firework display and my oh my what and evening we had. My mom her husband and my nanna all came round we had fancy party food a small bonfire and plenty of ahhhhh's and ohhhhh's and WOW's all to the tune of each bang crackle and pop that came from each firework. As I tended to the bonfire maintaining its safety in between providing the freshly cooked party food mom kept the kids busy and safe the men did what they do best tending to the owsome fireworks setting them up and letting them off and my nanna did whats she's always done sitting back watching listening and enjoying the company of her family.
Half way through the display I served our food and washed down with milky hot chocolate. A few more fireworks before heading back inside. Poor nanna was shattered so mom took her home made sure she was settled then brought back a curry for us all to eat. I bathed madam Jess who by now was getting tired. Tom played chess with grandad and Chris tired up and chopped more wood for the bonfire. Jess went to bed and Mother returned with the curry! Yummy
By now everyone was winding down Mom and Tom washed and dried up I tired the living room up from the endless toys and books. We let off a few more fireworks off before saying goodnight.
We all had so much fun and although it would have been nice to attend an organized event sometimes the more fun often comes from a more private and personal affair.
BONFIRE NIGHT 20011 !!
