UPDATE....

Now that I have had a few days to process most of the information given to us I feel ready to update on what will be a tough 6 months...

Jessica will begin the next faze of her journey with 3/4 procedures called skin expansion. This is so when the time comes for her main operation there will be enough skin tissue to close up her wounds. Thankfully the person who will be performing these skin expansion ops is the very same person who repaired Jessica's cleft.

July/August will be the time where Jessica will embark on her VEPTR journey.

The plan is to re-shape Re-Aline and expand her chest outward using a VEPTR device on the one side then using another VEPTR device on the opposite side to encourage growth upwards.

The idea is to improve and stabilise Jessica's chest cavity. Once this is done Jessica will have to go back for expansions every 6 to 9 months. This will be repeated until she is between 8-9 years old. Once completed and the chest cavity is stable the VEPTR device on the left can be removed and the process of straightening her spine can begin.

FINGERS TOES AND ALL IS NOW CROSSED prayers are most welcome as the above plan is the only plan its still a shot in the dark and still very much a 50-50.

What is the most important thing to remember is if all goes well Jessica will continue to have the quality of life she has now any improvement beyond this will be a bonus but at least her quality of life will not decrease.
