My local netball club entered into a tournament in Northampton which was in aid of raising money for the charity of help the hero's. this in particular was very close to my heart and that of my family. My brother is a front line soldier who was posted to Afghan back in October 2010. 4 weeks before he and his fellow soldiers were due back he and one of his muckers were blown up. Thankfully with his and that of his buddies and there hours of training saved my brother and his mate. By rights they should have been killed if not limbs should have been missing. My brother does have some pretty nasty scars on his face head and neck and his one hand does still need some corrective surgery but nothing that is preventing him from continuing his duties as a soldier and he is still a wind up but thank god he is alive. Unfortunately this isn't always the case my brother lost fellow comrades he lost friends, he has friends who weren't as luck as him as far as injuries are concerned.
7 games per team 7 teams per group. my club entered 2 teams. I personally play 12 out of 14 games and my god it hurts soo bad yet it was so worth it and my pain is nothing in comparison to that experienced by the family friends and loved ones of those who were injured or lost.
Both teams did amazingly well Dolphins 1 lost out of the top spot on goal difference and Dolphins 2 were the winners of there group Happy Days!!
Needless to say I was so proud of everyone who came along and played everyone played very well and I thank the club in Northampton for organizing this tournament to raise the much needed money to continue to provide the excellent aftercare to our hero's who go out and fight on behalf our country for our freedom!!
